Material Handling

Material handling is one of the essential elements of any automation or robotic system.  You must design the input and output strategy at the concept level in order to develop an efficient and quality system.

JH Robotics has designed, built, and integrated numerous types of material handling equipment in its 26 plus year history.

Conveyors play a large role in material handling. JH Robotics has designed and built many specialty conveyor systems using the poly or stainless steel table-top style for the basis of the design. We use commercially available conveyors where possible, this may involve table-top style, belt, or roller styles.  Our roller conveyors have consisted of powered rollers and chain / belt driven rollers.  These conveyors have ranged from up to 8’ wide to 30’ long.

For special applications conveyor systems for the accumulation of parts where elimination of back pressure was required, we designed and manufactured an accumulator with table-top chain of either poly or stainless steel that allowed a low back pressure on the fixtured part. 

Bowl feeders have been a large part of JH Robotics' integration and system design.  We integrate commercially available bowl feeders into JH Robotics designed equipment and work cells.  In most cases we will also design and build the end delivery system of the bowl feeder track as required for part pickup.

Another specialty of JH Robotics are feeders where parts are stacked vertically in tubes or on shafts. These systems are loaded to a specified queued amount by an operator and are escaped out individually from the bottom or picked from the top down in incremented steps by a FANUC Robot.

In many cases different material handling techniques are required. JH Robotics has used walking beam style material handling techniques as well as FANUC Robot pick and place as a pass through method. Our experience in these various material handling options allow JH Robotics to select the correct solution that will be the most reliable and cost effective for your application.
