Engineering Technician

JH Robotics is a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced automation systems and an integrator of FANUC robotics for custom machines. We engineer solutions for a wide range of industries from automotive, aerospace and medical, to robotic CNC machine tending. With over 37 years of automation experience, JH Robotics has been leading the way in factory automation in the Northeast.

Summary:

Assembles, tests, and troubleshoots system assemblies while maintaining project schedules. Ability to design and fabricate, with a focus on quality, time, and cost. The ideal candidate will poses a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a self-starter, and possess sound communication skills for internal and customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Build machines and assemblies according to prints.
  • Use of CNC, Bridgeport manual milling machines and lathe for manufacturing of system components.
  • Tests and troubleshoots machines to meet designed system requirements.
  • Ability to assemble system components using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures.
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks and Draftsight CAD. Knowledge of CAM package Fusion 360 a plus.
  • Works directly with engineering and shop foreman in creating/revising system builds.
  • Ability to travel when required, and assist with field installation and perform robot preventative maintenance (10%).
  • Performs maintenance and repair of in house manufacturing machines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • AA/AS degree in technology, mechanical or industrial engineering or related field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in machine shop environment.
  • Ability to take initiative, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, innovative problem solver, with ability to handle multiple tasks.

Machinist

Summary

Performs duties related to the manufacturing processes of custom machines projects including part fabrication (CNC & manual mills) machine assembly, testing and debug, as well as installation assistance at customer facilities. Strong focus on setup and programing of CNC mill (G-Code and CAM package – Fusion is preferred) as well as operating manual Bridgeport mills. Additional duties include manual lathe & grinder operation, assist with custom machine building & assembly through direction from Shop Foreman, interact with Engineers on design and part fabrication, and assist with Production milling or lathe operation if needed. There will be the occasional need to assist with general shop area maintenance. The ideal candidate will maintain a positive work environment and communicate effectively with co-workers and management staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to interpret Engineering drawings for dimensions and tolerances to fabricate parts to required specifications.
  • Proficiency with CNC operation in all aspects – program, setup, manual programing, and knowledge of Fusion.
  • Knowledgeable in material selection to assist with part fabrication.
  • Assist other Shop personnel & Engineering staff with project assembly, test, & debug.
  • Experienced with the use of general inspection tools (Vernier calipers, Micrometers).
  • Able to maintain a project schedule.
  • Assist other Shop personnel with machine maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to work under direction of Shop Foreman.
