Mechanical Engineer

JH Robotics is a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced automation systems and an integrator of FANUC robotics for custom machines. We engineer solutions for a wide range of industries from automotive, aerospace and medical, to robotic CNC machine tending. Summary:

Currently seeking a candidate with BSME and minimum 2 years of relevant experience..

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for mechanical hardware design for customer specific automation projects
  • Work with Management & Sales/Marketing staff to generate initial quote concepts, descriptions, and illustrations for customer proposals
  • Create 3D CAD models/Detailed Drawings using Solidworks
  • Create support documentation for custom automation projects
  • Ability to work in team environment with Electrical Engineering staff and Shop Technician staff
  • Communicate with customers for follow-up support machine support after installation
  • Prior experience in Fanuc robot software programming is a huge plus.  Must be willing to learn programming for industrial six axis robots. 
  • Project management skills needed to work to a project schedule
  • Periodic travel to customer site required for support of existing or new product installation

Electrical / Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for electrical hardware design for customer specific automation projects
  • Work with Management & Sales/Marketing to provide input on quote concepts, descriptions, and illustrations for customer proposals
  • Create electrical schematics using Autocad for custom automation projects
  • Ability to work in team environment with Mechanical & other Electrical Engineering staff and Shop Technician staff
  • Working knowledge to program, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for custom automation projects (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, or GE experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge to program, test, and troubleshoot human machine interface controls (HMI)
  • Create supporting electrical and software documentation as required for specific automation projects
  • Prior experience in Fanuc robot software programming is a huge plus.  Must be willing to learn programming for industrial six axis robots
  • Must have basic knowledge of OHSA regulations and electrical code standards regarding automated machinery.

Engineering Technician

Summary:

Assembles, tests, and troubleshoots system assemblies while maintaining project schedules. Ability to design and fabricate, with a focus on quality, time, and cost. The ideal candidate will poses a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a self-starter, and possess sound communication skills for internal and customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Build machines and assemblies according to prints.
  • Use of CNC, Bridgeport manual milling machines and lathe for manufacturing of system components.
  • Tests and troubleshoots machines to meet designed system requirements.
  • Ability to assemble system components using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures.
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks and Draftsight CAD. Knowledge of CAM package Fusion 360 a plus.
  • Works directly with engineering and shop foreman in creating/revising system builds.
  • Ability to travel when required, and assist with field installation and perform robot preventative maintenance (10%).
  • Performs maintenance and repair of in house manufacturing machines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • AA/AS degree in technology, mechanical or industrial engineering or related field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in machine shop environment.
  • Ability to take initiative, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, innovative problem solver, with ability to handle multiple tasks.

Tool Room Technician

Summary

Currently seeking a candidate with minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a machine shop environment.  Basic mechanical assembly skills desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties related to all manufacturing phases of custom machines projects including part fabrication (CNC & Manual mills), machine assembly, testing and debug, and occasional installation assistance at customer facilities
  • Interact with Engineering staff on design and part fabrication
  • Assist with general shop maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings for dimensions & tolerances
  • Ability to operate a CNC mill – basic programming and setup desired.  Fusion 360 CAM package programming is a plus
  • Must have general understanding of inspection tools (Vernier calipers, micrometers, pin gages, etc)
  • General understanding of basic material properties for part fabrication is expected
  • Ability to skillfully use common hand tools.
  • Ability to work under, on, and in tight spaces around machine structures to perform assembly and debug tasks

Production Milling Operator

Summary

Performs duties related to the all phases of vmc milling process including but not limited to: vertical milling machine operation, assist with setups/tool changes as directed, perform inspection checks with proper gauges during production running, tool change/replacement, cutting of raw material, parts cleaning, deburring.  Candidate will also assist with general shop area maintenance and cleanliness as directed.  General machine shop experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret 2D part print drawings as required for given dimensions/tolerances
  • Use general inspection tools – i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, etc
  • Load parts in fixtures and operate a cnc mill
  • Use automatic feed saw for cutting material
  • Assist with machine maintenance where applicable
  • Interacts with inspection and other machine operators
  • Ability to work under direction of shop foreman

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be able to work full time
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Be able to work in a safe manner
  • Familiarity with general machining practices a plus
